A natural cabochon turquoise silver ring set into a sterling ring. This ring has a great presence on the finger and is dictated by the beauty of the large and polished turquoise center stone. The stone is set in an amazing, handmade, soft rectangular pattern double row. This sits atop this deep engraved split shank that has a beaded row holding up the stone.
The turquoise stone set into the ring is thought to be rare and spectacular Easter Blue turquoise hand selected for this ring. Easter Blue, in the Royston mining district, produced a small amount of turquoise on a sporadic basis over several decades. Very little of this material is gem grade. This natural specimen represents the very finest quality ever to be discovered at the claim. The pear shaped cabochon featured is a gorgeous deep blue with stark black matrix covering the bottom third of the stone.
The ring is marked on the inside of the shank with "S. Kescoli". This is for Navajo artist Sammie Kescoli. Sammie Kescoli Begay, a Navajo minister, crafts some of the most exquisite traditional and deeply stamped sterling silver jewelry found in Indian Country. Using heavy gauge ingot silver combined with high-quality turquoise, often supplied by his customers, his pieces stand out for their exceptional quality and distinctive style. Approaching each creation with the eye of a true perfectionist, Sammie dedicates himself to his growing congregation on the Navajo reservation while also producing these remarkable works of art.
The ring is a size 12. This ring cannot be sized.
